Salvatore Ristorante was one of the first of many neighborhood Italian restaurants to open its doors in the late 1980s.  Almost twenty-four years later, Salvatore has proved he has staying power continually bringing back regulars as well as gaining new customers. Salvatore often comments that, "Many of my regular customers today started coming to my restaurant as very young children with their parents."
Salvatore Ristorante has always been a family business.  You will frequently find Salvatore's younger children following him around the restaurant, just like his older children in the earlier years. Salvatore's oldest son and daughter, both now grown, are still often seen helping or visiting their dad.
Chef-owner, Salvatore Anania, opened Salvatore Ristorante Italiano in March 1988.  Born in Stigliano, a small town in the region of Basilicata in southern Italy, Salvatore credits his culinary skills to his mom, Aurelia Dimase.  However, Salvatore has always been quick to add that, "I can never  quite get my sauces to taste as good as hers."  Although his mom passed away, Salvatore still returns home to Italy to spend time with his family and enjoy his sister's cooking, a close second to his mom's.
